Today the ESADE Winter Career Week begins and will take place as well on Monday (25.01.10) and Tuesday (26.01.10) on the ESADE Campus Building 3. This will be great recruiment opportunity for all MBA students graduating in March 2010 and the first year students looking for summer internships.

What a great evening it has been. First of all I would like to thank the Jury and the Entrepreneurship Club for organising this event. Secondly I would like to thank my team mates and colleagues Quique de la Mata and Shinsuke Ogawa for working on this project together. We won the 2nd price for the business idea of mobile payments and now we are even more convinced that therre is a lot opportunity in this market. This event was a great opportunity to get feedback on the business idea, the exposure, criticism and experience.
Special mention also has to go the project Cell Tag which won the competition, presented by Eric King. The concept evolves around putting barcodes and tags on cells during the embryo fertilization process for humans. Excellent idea and I am looking forward to watching this project grow.
The third price went to Pedro Martinho whose business idea evolves around air plane maintenance. It is a company of aviation engineers and mechanics whose job it is to reduce the “on the ground time” of airplanes that have been experiencing technical difficulties or damages.
All the other projects were great too and it was great seeing all the presentations. May the entrepreneurial spirit continue!!! Hopefully we get to see the videos soon!!

The ESADE Entrepreneurship Club invites to the presentation of Mr. Heiko Rauch,the CFO/COO of Zanox, a global market leader for performance-based online marketing and affiliation platform. I used to work with Zanox on a daily basis when I was working for LetsBuyIt.com and therefore have a particular interest in this presentation.

Heiko Rauch is co-founder and CFO/COO of zanox, a global market leader for performance-based online marketing. At zanox, he is responsible of finance, business development, organisation and operations.
Before joining the zanox executive team, Heiko served as a project manager for Bankgesellschaft in Berlin, managing a team of ten employees. His experience in controlling and budgeting have proved invaluable for the zanox’ Finance and Accounting department. His strengths in developing and maintaining lean, efficient organisational structures coupled with his strong financial competencies have proved a driving force in the success of zanox’ European and international expansion. It was also Heiko who established zanox’ subsidiary in the US – a strategic move to realise the vision of a globally spanning network covering Europe, Asia and the Northern American markets.
He holds a degree in Information Technology from the University of Applied Sciences, FHTW, Berlin.

Now it is November and memories about China are already fading however it surely has left a mark on all of us. It was a great experience and we learned a lot however we are still missing one important aspect of the Study Tour. In order to address one shortfall of the China Study Tour we thought it might be interesting to provide you with the opportunity to see China from the angle that has been kep hidden from us: the non-Chinese perspective!
The ESADE Operations Club and ESADE Entrepreneurship Club have invited Tom von der Heyden, 3S Managing Director, to present some realities of what it is really like to do business in China as foreigner. Today begins the long awaited ESADE Career Week. In the coming three days many companies are coming to the campus to recruit MBA students for internships (MBA class of 2011) or full-time positions for those that graduate in March 2010. Many companies urged us students to apply prior to this career week so that the companies and recruiters can take advantage and conduct the interviews while here.

During the Marketing Club Meeting today the 2 winning teams will present the Novartis Case with which they won Novaris Challenge:
“Open to the leading business schools in Spain, the Master Minds Challenge is an opportunity for MBA candidates to play the role of a Brand Manager at Novartis. The goal of the competition’s first edition was to develop a winning marketing plan leading to market share growth for a dermatological product over a 3 year period.” (Source: ESADE Newsletter, May 2009)
You should attend because some of the winners leave for a term abroad, so this will be the last chance to see their winning presentations. There will many other important topics covered during the meeting such as the election of new Board Members. See you there?
