Barcelona – Insider Tips
After having spent some time here in Barcelona I thought it was time to share my favorite spots and activities in the city, which has so much to offer. These are truly my favorite spots and I hope that you get to enjoy them as well! Feel free to add any other tips you might have.
Cafes:
Rambla de Raval /47: “Madame Jasmine” and across the road “Cafe de les Delicies”.
Cafe “Lobo” behind the Hotel 1898 on La Ramblas (Carrer del Pintor Fortuny 3, Barcelona)
Sarria: Caffe San Marco Calle Pedro de la creu, 15. Tel: 932 802 973.
Tapas & Bars:
Cavaria (Xampagneria) – Metro Barceloneta: C/ Reina Cristina 3, 08003 Barcelona. This cavaria is a special place because it is run by the unions. The place is incredibly packed, extremely cheap and has a great atmosphere. As it is run by the unions it will close at 10.30 pm sharp!
Bar Tomás. Probably the best Patatas Bravas in town. Calle Major de Sarrià 49. From 12:00 to 18:00 and from
Cerveceria Catalana Carrer de Mallorca 236, 08008 Barcelona
Ciudad Condal Rambla de Catalunya 18, 08007 Barcelona
Tapaç 24 Carrer de la Diputació 269, 08007 Barcelona
Restaurants:
4 Ghats – famous for the world-known guests and visitors (Pablo Picasso among others)
Son Hao – C/ Muntaner 66. Apparently the best Taiwanese restaurant in town
Quarters:
“Barrio Gotico”, “El Born”, “Rambla de Raval”, “Sarria”
Activities
The Jazz-Catameran-Cruise on the Catamaran-Orsom:
Sights:
Catedral, Sagrada Familia, Barceloneta beaches, Montjuic, Espanya Fountain Plays, Picasso Museum (if I am not wrong some of the museums should be for free on the first Sundays of every month but don’t quote me on that).
The tourist bus trip: BusTouristic (ca. 21 Euros). This is actually a really good way to discover Barcelona and I have discovered some great spots which I haven’t heard of before.
Cinemas that show movies in the original languages:
When you are looking for movies in the original language you have to look for the abbreviation V.O.S., which stands for the original versions of the movies.
